Baked Apple Fritters (Quick & Easy)
These baked apple fritters are soft, fluffy, packed with apples, and finished with a sweet glaze—without the mess of deep frying.
Ingredients
For the fritters
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅔ cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced (about 2 medium apples)
For the glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Make the batter
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
3. Bake
- Drop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each fritter.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
4. Make the glaze
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Adjust with more milk if needed for a pourable consistency.
5. Finish
- Let fritters cool for 5 minutes.
- Drizzle or brush with glaze while still slightly warm.
Tips
- Use crisp apples such as Honeycrisp Apple, Granny Smith Apple, or Fuji Apple.
- For extra crunch, add ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Sprinkle with extra cinnamon before serving.
Storage
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Warm briefly before serving for the best texture.
