Fresh Cucumber Lemonade
This is a refreshing, lightly sweet, spa-style drink made with real cucumber and lemon. It’s crisp, cooling, and perfect for hot weather.
Ingredients
- 2 large cucumbers, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 4–5 cups cold water (adjust to taste)
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar or honey (adjust to sweetness preference)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional, enhances flavor)
- Ice cubes
Optional Add-Ins
- Fresh mint leaves
- Sliced lemon or cucumber for garnish
- A splash of sparkling water for fizz
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger for a spicy kick
Instructions
Step 1: Blend the Cucumber
Add chopped cucumbers and 1 cup of water into a blender.
Blend until completely smooth.
Step 2: Strain
Pour the blended cucumber through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher.
Press or squeeze to extract all liquid. Discard pulp or save for smoothies.
Step 3: Add Lemon and Sweetener
Add to the pitcher:
- Fresh lemon juice
- Sugar or honey
- Salt (if using)
Stir until fully dissolved.
Step 4: Dilute and Chill
Add 3–4 cups cold water, adjusting to taste.
Stir well.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
Step 5: Serve
Pour over ice and garnish with cucumber slices, lemon wheels, or mint.
Tips
- For a stronger cucumber flavor, reduce water slightly.
- For a sweeter “lemonade stand” style drink, increase sugar or honey.
- For a lighter drink, use sparkling water instead of still water.
Storage
Keep refrigerated for up to 2–3 days. Stir before serving, as natural separation may occur.
If you want, I can also make a sugar-free version, a detox-style version, or a slushy frozen version.
