Ingredients
- 100 g (7 tbsp) butter, softened
- 100 g (½ cup) sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100 g (¾ cup) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2–3 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1–2 tbsp milk (if needed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease a 20–24 cm (8–9 inch) round cake pan.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Fold in flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add a little milk if the batter seems too thick.
- Spread batter into the prepared pan.
- Arrange apple slices on top, pressing them slightly into the batter.
- Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
